Badminton Tournament
Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" (with one player per side) and "doubles" (with two players per side). Badminton is often played as a casual outdoor activity in a yard or on a beach; formal games are played on a rectangular indoor court. Points are scored by striking the shuttlecock with the racquet and landing it within the opposing side's half of the court.

Forum on Bursting the Digital Marketing Misbelief
A forum was conducted for the UG & MBA students on the topic “BUSTING THE DIGITAL MARKETING MISBELIEF” in the College Conference Hall on Thursday, July 18, 2019. A total number of 95 students attended the forum. Mr. Bhautik Sheth, the founder of iVIPANAN Digital Marketing & Management Services was the guest speaker who had enlightened the students with the following concepts of Digital Marketing.
WHAT DIGITAL MARKETING IS NOT!
Digital Marketing is not only about face book. Not about creating images and posting on social media. Not about posting in groups and tagging unnecessarily. Not only about stuffing key words on website. Not the one time activity.
PLATFORMS OF DIGITAL MARKETING
The various platforms of digital marketing can be as follows: - Social media Marketing, SEO, Google Adds, Web Analytics, Blogging, Content Strategist etc.
DARK SIDE OF DIGITAL MARKETING INDUSTRY
There are the dark side of digital marketing, such as Lack of exposure. New entrants. No experience. False promises. Everybody is an ‘Industry Expert’!! No reallife live project experience. Reading and delivering. Copying other’s practice to expect the same result.
PROBLEMS WITH CUSTOMERS
Some of the problems with the customers are: No clarity of own business. Confused between marketing and sales. No long-term marketing blueprint. Expectation on sales without focusing on marketing. Heavy reliance on marketing agency. Lack of involvement.
BUSINESS ARE MISGUIDED BY
Social media images. Festival Posts. First rank on Google in a month. Website content writing (By a fresh College grad!). traditional Marketing is dead
THINK BEFORE OPTING FOR DIGITAL MARKETING COURSE
Experience of a trainer is very important. Is a trainer practitioner too? Understand the content of training program. What after the course? Live project? Is there a team with trainer? Does he inspire to move ahead?
The forum was an eye opener for the students of the positive and negative aspects of the Digital Marketing, many of which they were unaware of. A sincere appreciation for the Placement Team and to the student volunteers who had made the forum a successful one.

said Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi as he launched the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Mission) at Rajpath in New Delhi. On 2nd October 2014, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was launched throughout length and breadth of the country as a national movement. The campaign aims to achieve the vision of a ‘Clean India’ by 2nd October 2019. The mission focuses on sanitation and clean drinking water throughout the country.
Metas Adeventist College organized an awareness Campaign and Cleanliness Drive under Swachh Bharat Swasth Bharat Abhiyaan Programme on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. Even teachers were the essential part of this drive.
Metas Adeventist College contributed to Swachh Bharat Abhiyan with following actions:
AWARENESS PROGRAMME:
The head of the Health Department of Surat Municipal Corporation addressed staff and students of Metas Adeventist College on 1st October 2019 on cleanliness and sensitized the movement. He shared the ill effects of using one time use plastic and also elaborated its harmful effect on to the environment. At this point the students also took an oath to eliminate the use of single use plastic.

CLEANLINESS DRIVE ON DUMAS BEACH:
Many of the students and staff members of the Metas Adventist College participated in the Cleanliness Drive to clean the Dumas beach and surrounding area of it as the part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan on 2nd October 2019. This was the first ever effort wherein all staff and students participated in the drive.
Vivacity Club of Metas Adventist College organised a cleanliness drive under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, on 2nd October 2019 7.30 am. to 11.30 am. and collected more than 25 bags of garbage (paper waste/Plastic waste/ Plastic bottles) from various locations on the Dumas beach and surrounding area of it. More than 60 students, non teaching staff and our faculty members from our Department participated in this campaign. This is the next step after the cleanliness drive in the campus after 2018 initiative.
The cleanliness drive under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is initiated to encourage, motivate, and institutionalize the concept of cleanliness among the students, teaching community, and administrative supporting staff from undergraduate level. At this stage, the student community can be shaped to be good citizens with a mindset to make the concept of 'Clean and Green India' a reality.
The initiative will definitely motivate the institutions that are really practicing the concept of cleanliness from inception, and can be a bench mark to other institutions to emulate. The overall aspect considered while evaluating the institutions is the existing practices followed to maintain good and efficient environment which positively affects the health and learning of the student/teaching community. The practice of cleanliness must be on a regular and continuous basis as the concept of cleanliness leads to overall improvement of the credibility of academic institutions.
In the beginning everyone took an oath of keeping our home, locality and city clean. The SMC (Surat Municipal corporation) was a great help in conducting the event. They not only gave us permission with allotted area but also provided us with all sort of equipments for this drive. The Club took care of the personal hygiene for the students and the faculty, hence provided everyone with mask and hand gloves.
The Club members started the programme by cleaning different parts of the beach. Then the teachers and students followed suit. Some of them picked brooms and started their job. Some of the students cleaned the surrounding parts. And others went to the beach side places and started picking wrappers lying scattered there. After collecting them they threw them in to the dustbins. After doing this job for two to three hours, all assembled at the center area. It was a unique experience for everyone. All the participants were delighted to be the part of this great drive that could have transformed the face of our country for ever.

International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking
International days are occasions to educate the public on issues of concern, to mobilize political will and resources to address global problems, and to celebrate and reinforce achievements of humanity. The existence of international days predates the establishment of the United Nations, but the UN has embraced them as a powerful advocacy tool. June 26 is observed as International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking every year after the United Nations General
Assembly passed a resolution on December 7, 1987, as an
“expression of its determination to strengthen action and cooperation to achieve the goal of an international society free of drug abuse.”
Supported each year by individuals, communities and various organizations worldwide, the global observance of International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking aims to “raise awareness of the major problem that illicit drugs represent to society.”
‘Health for Justice. Justice for Health’, the theme for International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking 2019, highlights that “justice and health are two sides of the same coin when it comes to addressing drug problems.”
Metas Adventist college, Surat also celebrated this day with all the zeal and enthusiasm. To promote this day and to create awareness amongst the youth ‘Vivacity Club’ of Metas Adventist College along with its volunteers prepared a street play on the same theme. This play was performed as a flash mob in to the canteen area of the college. Total 16 students performed for this street play which portrayed ill effects of the consumption of different drugs. Also it tried to put forth how the families of the drug addicted people struggle in different dimensions of life. Approximately 300 students witnessed this play in Metas Adventist College. The play was hugely appreciated by all.
Also the club distributed badges to all the students against drug abuse. After having a successful performance in the college the team went to a nearby Sarvajanik College of Engineering and Technology. Here also the team along with the mentors and other faculty performed a play. A dome was allotted for the team for this performance. Almost 500 students were watching the play.
