    World Youth Skills Day 2023

    On this occasion, various programs such as public speaking and communication skills, Texture Art, Makeup and Bhangra (Dance) were organized. More than 370 students of the college participated in these competitions and workshops

    Workshop- 1        

     Worskshop - Public Speaking Skills - “Communicate to Lead”

    To enhance the skill of Public speaking, Viva city club of Metas Adventist college organized one day workshop for the students of Metas Adventist college, Surat. A total of 96 students registered for the workshop.

    Participants spend their day understanding the essentials of public speaking and in doing so they learnt the underlying challenges, how to overcome these challenges and present statements and presentations in a confident and concise manner. Moreover, with the help of simulation exercises, CA Pooja Maloo further emphasized the importance of tone of voice and position and how to further refine presentations.

    Workshop -2

    Workshop - Texture Art

    The workshop on “Texture Art” was a beginner friendly workshop in which students learnt about how to handle and apply a paste called “texture paste”, and use the right tools to explore new and innovative ideas to use texture paste in paintings, preserve the artwork and create their own unique texture art master piece.

    Participants learned about using the right proportions of grout and water to create an accurate consistency. They explored how this texture is used to give the illusion of depth. This artwork is similar to that of sculpting and allowed them to express uniqueness of their artwork.

    A total of 108 students attended the workshop, and they were happy to learn about the new skill of         Art.

    Workshop-3

    Workshop- Makeup Skills

    With a good makeup Brush, every woman can be an Artist.

    The “Makeup Skills” workshop witnessed the participation of student’s full zeal and enthusiasm. With the rise in the number of youtubers making video tutorials about make-up skills, this workshop had a special attraction to it. During the workshop, Ms. Nishi (Makeup Artist) highlighted the various techniques of basic makeup and also shed light on different techniques used in makeup for different skin textures. After the workshop, an interactive session was conducted in which students got answers to their make-up related questions.

    Workshop-4

    Workshop- Bhangra

    Bhangra is a type of traditional folk dance of Punjab, originating in the Sialkot area of Punjab, Pakistan. It is done in the season of harvesting.

    The workshop was conducted for the students of Management and Commerce to showcase, hone and perfect their dancing skills. The main objective of the workshop was to introduce and provide a platform for the students to learn something new which was outside of academics. The workshop was conducted by Ms. Aashika Chopra and Ms.Palak Modha along with 2 other artists from there dance group.

    A total of 154 Students participated in the workshop.

    The event was an overall success as the participants had a fun and refreshing time learning   different moves.
