    RED CROSS TRAINING REPORT – AUGUST 17-19, 2019

    Day-1

    Opening ceremony of workshop on topic ”Integrated Risk Management” by Indian Red Cross Society…..It was established in 1863 in Geneva, Switzerland

    About Red Cross

    There are international Federation of red Cross, Red crescent society, Indian Red Cross society.

    All together helps in protecting human life and to ensure respect of all human beings also preventing human suffering..

    on day 1 introduction to Red Cross was given an explanation about its fundamentals were shown such as:

    Places where Red Cross comes in action:

    • To help the wounded and sick people on land during war
    • To help the wounded in sick people when there's a shipwreck
    • To consult prisoners of war
    • To civilians

    Fundamental Principals of Red Cross:

    • Humanity
    • Impartiality (parcel to kids, old people, females)
    • Neutrality
    • Independence
    • Volunteer service
    • Universality
    • Unity

    Disasters

    Plans on managing disasters by preparing themselves and knowing the difficulties that arises during such situations such as:

    Day 2

    The start of day 2 was done by weaving about first aid. Methods version on how to react to an accident and then how to treat the wounded.

    In situations where there is a nosebleed he or she must be made to sit in forward direction and water must be poured on her head for 8 to 10 minutes. In situations where a person is facing seizure he or she must be held by force and stop the body movements.

    Different methods were shown on how to assist a person who is choking. Just like these situations many few situations were given and different methods and techniques was shown to assist the one who is wounded or is in need of help, three different maps were made of three different areas of Surat city which are flood prone and discussion was made on what to do during the event of flood .

    Day 3

    Introduction to SERV Red Cross was done.

    Social and Emergency Response Volunteers

    There are district, state, national response teams. A session was conducted on showing how to tie different types of knots and the uses of these knots.

    it is a system created by Red Cross which lets the family of the victim know that they are alive with the message from them and red cross is responsible to deliver those messages..

    Collection for the people in need

    During the time of disasters in a state, Different states helped that state by donating basic necessity stuff such as clothes only those clothes which are good quality and new and totally unused..

    Closing

    Closing was done by asking the participants to speak and tell their experiences and as a token of appreciation certificate were given to all the participants
