In India, we are seeing a new trend. People prefer home cooked food as compared to ordering food online. Home chefs and home bakers are in high demand these days. People want their daily breads and party cakes to be done by some home bakers only. Home baking has now become a new profession, where lot of people are trying their skill in this field. By seeing the trend, Metas Adventist College, Surat, has organized this workshop for those girls who love baking.

The workshop commenced with Ms. Surabhi Sugathan, Asst. Prof, Management Dept, introducing and welcoming the guest speaker of the event,  Ms. Shreya Sharma. Ms. Shreya started the session with explanation of recipe of basic chocolate sponge cake, ingredients used and care to be taken while baking the cake. She practically demonstrated the preparation of the cake. She then gave different ideas of cake decoration with practical demonstration. She answered the queries and doubts asked by the participants during the workshop. The students got an insight in the intricacies of cake baking and decoration. The session ended with vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Miti Dhupia, Asst Prof., Commerce Dept.

Ms. Shreya Sharma is qualified as a Company Secretary (company laws). She is currently working as a passionate & professional baker in city of Surat with 6 years of experience under the brand name ''Shreya’s Delicacy''. She specialises in customised cakes, vegan bake, gluten free, healthy & desserts for all occasion.
