    A REPORT ON – The Celebration of World Breast Feeding Week

    PARTICIPANTS:  110 Girl students of BBA and BCom

    Every year the first week of August month is celebrated as World Breastfeeding Week. This year also it has been celebrated from 01-07th August 2022. This week highlight the benefits of breastfeeding in terms of nutrition and good health for babies.  METAS Adventist College has conducted a seminar on “Step up for breastfeeding” for the girl students of the college on 4th August, Thursday.

    The seminar was conducted by esteem speakers Dr. Keyuri Shah, MD (Paediatrics), Dr. Minaxi Anurag Tripathi, Assoc. Professor, Dept. of Food and Nutrition, SPTM College of Arts and Home Science, Surat along with the three student volunteers Ms. Khushi Desai, Ms. Riddhi Tarsariya, Ms. Vrunda Thummar of T.Y.B.Sc., Food Science and Nutrition.

    The seminar had begun by welcoming the speaker with flowers and ball pen as a token of love  with the introduction speech by Mr. Khirod Dalpati, Placement Officer of the college. The speakers had talked about the importance and benefits about the breastfeeding for the newborns and their mothers. The seminar was aim to raise the awareness of the health and well being outcome of the breastfeeding and the importance of the mother in this busy world to breastfeed as long as they wish. At the end, Speakers had kept the session open for the students to ask their queries and doubts. The students had asked questions and their doubts and queries are clarified.

    All the participants were really beneficial by gaining knowledge about the importance of breastfeeding. The session was attended by approx 115 participants comprising students and faculty members from the college. At last the session was concluded with the appreciation message and vote of thanks speech by Ms. Palak Raninga, student of TYBBA.

    With whole hearted support from our President Sir Dr. S. Eliah, Executive Vice- President Sir Dr. N. Mohan Rao, Student Dean Sir Mr Subhakar Prasad, Administrative staff members, technical in-charge, photography team, dear students etc., the session was successfully completed around 11:40am.   The session will be really helpful to all the girl students to gain the knowledge about the importance of breastfeeding for the babies health. METAS Adventist College always believes in educational, technical, social and holistic development of students.
