  • Essay Writing Competition 2018-19

    Essay writing is a very sensitive form of self expression. It is a harmonious blending of ‘thought’ and ‘expression’. Essay writing has assumed great
    importance in our competitive examinations. It is considered to be the most effective test of the ability of a candidate to express his thoughts on a topic
    of general interest in general, unambiguous and impressive English. Keeping this perspective in mind, the Mindscraft club of Seventh Day
    Adventist College organized the Essay writing competition for the students of management and commerce departments.

    "The pen is mightier than the sword"

    An essay writing competition was held by United Nations Information Centre for India and Bhutan in association with Shir Ram Chandra Mission in the college on 27th July 2018. Students were asked to write the essay on the topic “A mind all logic is a knife all blade. It makes the hand bleed that uses it.” The word limit for the essay writing was 750 words. The best 2 five essay would be selected from the college and would be send to the next zone level competition.

    The event was organised in The Conference Hall of the college. Total 125 students participated in the competition. The students were given the time limit on one hour to complete their writing. In order to conduct it for all the classes the event was held in two segments. The first round was held between 10:30 to 11:30 for S.Y.and T.Y. BBA BCOm students. The next round was held between 11.30 to 12.30 for F.Y. BBA BCOM students. The stationary was provided by the college. The students showed their profound interest towards writing. And each essay was a landmark into the college’s history of essay writing.

    The essays were collected by the respective club members and were send to Shri Ram Chandra Mission. The next level of scrutiny will be done by them. After the evaluation the students who are selected by Shir Ram Chandra Mission, and they will be awarded by cash prizes and certificate in a felicitation ceremony.
